Jazzmen Rice Peach Horchata (Mexican Rice Milk)

Traditionally, horchata is flavored strongly with cinnamon. But we wanted to create a lighter version with the a flavor of summer. this version is super refreshing on a hot day and can easily be spiked for a adult twist.

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 cup uncooked white Jazzmen Rice

  • 5 cups water

  • 1/2 cup milk

  • 1/2 tablespoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 tablespoon ground cinnamon

  • 2/3 cup white sugar

  • 1 cup diced peaches

DIRECTIONS:

  1. Pour the rice into a blender and blend until the rice just begins to break up, about 1 minute. Add the water and cinnamon and soak at room temperature for 2-4 hours. The longer you soak the more rice flavor will be extracted.

  2. Strain the rice water into a blender and discard the rice. Add the milk, vanilla, sugar, and peaches and blend until smooth.

  3. Chill and stir before serving over ice.
