Jazzmen Rice with Sausage and Lentils

Here's an easy one pot recipe for a quick and delicious lunch or dinner to warm your insides as the weather starts to get colder.


INGREDIENTS:

2 tbsp. oil

1 lb. fresh sausage (can use Italian sausage)

1/2 lb. green lentils

5 cups water

1 tbsp. fresh thyme

1 1/2 cups Jazzmen White Rice (can substitute Jazzmen Brown Rice)


DIRECTIONS:

  1. Heat oil in a rice pot. Remove sausage from casing (if present) and cook until brown and crumbled in pot.

  2. Add lentils and thyme and stir to evenly combine. Add water and bring to a boiling cooking lentils for 10 minutes.

  3. Add Jazzmen Rice to pot a stir to combine, cover and simmer until rice is fully cooked.

  4. Stir to recombine if separation occurred and serve warm.
